A Transparent Paint Protection Film for Non-Visible Areas Developed specifically for protecting automotive surfaces from scratches, galvanic corrosion, abrasion and wear, 3M™ Paint Protection Film 8591 is an excellent alternative to molded protectors which can detract from finished vehicle appearance. This 14 mil film features a 12 mil polyurethane base. The material has been rigorously tested for gravel chip resistance as well as cracking, chalking and dulling due to natural weathering for excellent film clarity and gloss retention, and shows excellent tensile strength and resistance to elongation or shrinkage. A 2 mil acrylic adhesive applied to the film is pressure-sensitive for fast, efficient application. This film has no clear coat, making it especially suitable for use in non-visible areas such as for metal separators and hose wraps and as a body hole filler. Featuring a 6.2 - 7.1 mil paper liner, 3M™ Paint Protection Film 8591 is flexible and die-cuttable to make it easier to apply even on complex automotive surfaces. It is available in die-cut or pre-masked parts for added efficiency.
